(see our entry at VAPS for an updated list of games)
We've given up on parking
cars in the garage and I've started collecting coin-ops (but only ones that are
fun to play). Below are a few shots of our fledgling collection.
NEWS 2003-08-09: OK, I'm a lazy bastard. The arcade's been rearranged and the collection's been pruned a bit over the past year, so I still need to go out and take some fresh pics...we're currently down from 25 machines to a more space-friendly 16 machines, which fit neatly into "my half" of the garage...
Other items:
The prodigal TRON has returned...the guy I sold it to 18 months ago sold it back to me. This was the only machine sale I've regretted...it's great having it back! Other than a clean, functional 'Discs of TRON' upright (as opposed to the monstrous and finicky chopped environmental I sold back to the original owner), my arcade want-list is now empty...
I installed a SlikStik Tornado spinner in the ArcadePC last weekend. I can't rave enough about these things! All of our favorite spinner-controlled games now work beautifully on the ArcadePC - Tempest, Arkanoid...highly recommended! Installation took about 20 minutes...15 of which was getting the sawdust out from underneath the control panel plexi that I'd drilled through. If a mechanical clod like me can install this, anyone can. It hooks up to any USB or PS2-mouse port, and acts as an X-axis-only mouse...no special drivers required. Slick!
NEWS 2003-04-16: OK, the site still badly needs an update and some fresh pics...
Just added: Robotron!
WANTED: TRON!
